it has a feature on the internet 'Doors', used to be a separate pamphlet but now inside the culture magazine. So, how many articles have they had about porn? none to my memory (I've been reading this mag for a quite a while), but they today include a an article about 'surfsafe2001'. Seemingly they are here to protect children. So they mention the old arguments -chat rooms, one-click acess to porn, paedophiles etc, etc.
So why is porn mentioned in regard to protecting children from it? Why isn't it mentioned as a phenomenon of the internet and the interest some people have in it?

Re: The Sunday Times
of all the countless consumer articles about the web in daily newspapers, i've never read one about the quality of porn sites. considering how much traffic on the web is porn orientated, you'd think someone would do a piece on it.
maybe comparing the price of cd's on different sites, is easier than writing about the superior quality of blow job images on www.bjs-r-us.com compared to those on www.e-rections.com (made those up, btw)

Re: The Sunday Times
Seems no-one wants to admit they look it up, as daft as that sounds. Just turn away and it's not there anymore, so it's no longer relevant. As (I think) Ben Dover said earlier, just look how far we've come compared with 2 years ago (hard core porn suddenly available to the masses). And 10 years ago (foreign stations showing dozens of films per night, internet readily avilable). It won't be long before everyone in the UK learns to except it whether they look at porn or not. Just like everyone now excepts gambling or women voting but there was probably an outcry at even that once. (I should imagine the imminent passing of Mary Whitehouse in a few years will help no end to it being put on UK TV.)
