The witch hunt that created the VRA in 1984 which banned many frankly poor horror films was a lesson learned by the authorities who actually had the stupidity to give a forum to the worst of them all, Mary Whitehouse, may she rest in hell. They said horror films were a direct cause of the 'breakdown in society' and fact is no matter how many times they asked scientists, not once could any of them say yes there is a link between real life problems and fantasy horror films.

At the time (circa mid-80's - mid 90's) there were God knows how many murderers who got off lighter as their defence seemed to consist of 'I heard the voice of Michael Myers'
The legal system eventually got wise to this and now it just doesn't happen.
That's what our 'moral guardian's' can cause with their cyclops vision.

This will probably be the same for porn, particularly poignant given the Ipswich murders right now, although given the back tracking they did after they realised what a pile of shite Whitehouse spoke, i doubt porn will ever go down the same road to the same extent. They sould have now learnt not to give too big a forum to witch hunters thankfully.

These people are entrenched in medieval times in their beliefs and are not prepared to hear the other sign of the argument, the reality, and are just there to vent their spleen.

Appearing on a night time debate show with this subject would get a very different reaction from the type of people who watch daytime pish.

Maybe it should be religion that is banned because a lot more people have committed atrocities after hearing god's voice or after seeing a light. Half the time the serial killers and nut jobs are direct results of the repression and shame that religion has and still does put on people. Porn is liberating therefore we should all worship the gods of sex drugs and rock and/or rollah. Or paganism as its called LOL

Porn - what I cannot understand is the people who decry "porn" are denying others from watching what is a perfectly natural act - one which I assume most of them will at some time indulged in.
