Could I suggest www.grisoft.com, if you haven't already got a virus scanner. Checks your system when you boot-up and on a daily basis.

I disagree - virus scanners just clog up system(like screen saver)- I've never had a virus clog my system (sus files go through hotmail account).

virus scanners do not clog up your system.....You must not care about your computer if you dont use any virus software...Not all virus mail needs to be executed...and as pointed out grisoft is about the best and its free.

"virus" is a hoax

Post by Wally Wanka »

Along with utterly useless email "petitions", hoax virus warnings are a waste of time, particularly for members of this forum who are usually far too busy anyway polishing their, ahem, silverware.

Just for the record, always check warnings here before passing them on:

scare tactics

Re: virus warning

Post by scare tactics »

Of course the virus' are created by the same people that make virus scanners! It's the fear that sells.
I've been on line since the 80's and never had a virus (and do not use a scanner), most of what you see is sales shit, just don't run (open) anything that could take control, you can open files with the extension .JPG or .GIF and some others but anything else be wary of.
