Public apology to Jerry Barnet

I am very sorry to Jerry Barnet for recent comments i made on these forums,
the information i recieved by certain parties got me very pissed off with what i had been told hence the threads i wrote.
On asking these parties for documented proof of what they had told me they were unable to provide me with anything leaving me up to my neck in shit.
Jerry i do owe you an apology as i was too fast slagging you off on hearsay,
in the 10 years we have been making films we have always tried to keep an happy media with both Amateur & Pro producers /models etc and on hearing the info i got i should have e-mailed you direct first but in haste done the stupid thing of making you guilty before finding out the facts.
Could the BGAFD please remove any offending posts i put regarding Jerry.

Hi John. It's sometimes amazing what a bitchy industry this can be, but it's also the most fun and despite the few idiots, I enjoy (almost) every minute of running Strictly Broadband.

I'm sure the people who fed you false information have been spreading the same stories far and wide, and I'm also sure those same people smile and shake my hand when I meet them.

I just want to clarify the BBFC situation, as it's been the subject of so much rumour. AITA (the Adult Industry Trade Association) were invited by the BBFC to discuss their plans for online certification. As an AITA committee member, I was one of the people attending that meeting, back in January. The BBFC's plans were already advanced - we didn't get to tell them what we wanted, we were simply told what they were planning.

I made attempts to keep the industry informed, by posting the full meeting details on industry forums. The BBFC also came to speak at an AITA meeting to keep the industry up to date. There are no secret plots going on - all the information is public and open, but a few people in the industry have decided to twist things and spread false information.

I once tried to join UKAP, but this seems to be a secret gossip circle, and I was told that since I'm not a producer I can't attend their meetings or read their private forums, so all gossip being passed around is third-hand.

Despite the negative stuff, I have good working relationships and friendships with many UK producers, and I know the shit-stirrers are a loud minority.

Jerry do I detect a rebuke in your post? I may be over stepping my mark here but with you saying UKAP being a "secret gossip circle" and Kim being misinformed when you say :

I would be led to believe you are implying either myself or UKAP. trust me if I had anyhting to say I would say it to your face during the handshake. I'm not backward at coming forward.

Kim is not a member of UKAP so you can rest assured her misinformation did not come from them or myself and would appreciate you not jumping on the bandwagon by perpetuating these rumours.

AITA conduct their own meetings and we conduct our own meetings. UKAP was formed mainly because producers were always the ones to get the proverbial kicking from consumers to performers and the moment we close ranks to respond we get accused of being a secret society.

I'm sure if models had their own association this would be a lot worse believe me as producers have to deal with a lot of things that are related to their everyday business and I dont see AITA giving a hoot about models current tests, what to do about no shows. You deal with the end products Jerry. Not the behind the scenes stuff.

If this was just about meeting up to gossip, believe me these things can be done on a one to one over the phone than with 15 producers at a meeting table. I seriously doubt any producer would take the association very seriously if this is what it was all about gossiping and slandering etc and I dont take too kindly to you trivilialising us this way.

Terry, I didn't have you in mind. TBH I don't know who has been spreading rumours, and I don't know if it has anything to do with UKAP - that was a separate point. I do know of a couple of people who have deliberately told lies about me and my site - one of those is our mutual friend... !wink!

Anyone can join AITA and attend the meetings, which isn't true of UKAP. I know I've been the subject of discussion at UKAP meetings (I have my spies !happy!) and I'd welcome the chance to join and sit in on discussions - the fact that I'm not allowed to attend and hear what's being said, gives things an air of secrecy.

The BBFC discussion is an example of how confused people can get when there isn't the chance for a free, open discussion. Some people seem to have got into their heads that I'm involved in some top-secret plot to take over the world. The reality is much less exciting, but I've never had the chance to sit with the producers and discuss this sensibly.

We've had a meeting with the BBFC also so I think we pretty much know what is going on. I for one dont think you are trying to take over the world. You wouldnt be very smart doing it through porn anyway. !happy!

If ever there was a discussion on Strictly Broadband I'm sure you will be given an opportunityto discuss but generally we cover issues and topics that the average joe around here would not find very interesting.

I'm not at liberty to discuss things but if you do have people inside UKAP who inform you I'm sure they can confirm this. hardly controversial stuff really.

I believe steps are bing taken to make inroads with AITA who we respect has way more clout than us in this industry.

Ok someone might have said who is that bald headed guy at Strictly Broadband and I might have said: Oh thats Jerry Barnett...Or had a moan about percentages but I think it didnt get further than that.

I can assure you its not a meeting to slag off individuals, even if people have a moan or a gripe. Trust me I gripe like a mo fo if I'm pissed off about something and I think for one you are an ok guy in my book.

If i can put you both at ease my info did not come from UKAP or any of its reps including Terry, i do know Terry & he has asked me & Kim to join the UKAP a few times & will most probably join in the New Year. Up to now film making as just been an hobby for us & we have not taken things too serious but after 10 years doing this we now believe its time to expand our projects & shoot 2-4 films a month from Jan 2008.
I was wrong and hold my hands up, anyone who had done something as stupid as i did should be the vent of your anger but please don't argue amongst yourselves. I have said sorry & retract anything i have recently wrote about Jerry & thats all i can do.
