I noticed when asked where she was from Natalie replied London, i thought she was from Sheffield. Maybe by sayng London it would sound better and boost her profile over there.

It's probably more that Americans have never heard of anywhere other than London- it's just way easier to say you're from somewhere that someone's heard of than have to explain where Sheffield is!
