Rockbitch blow away Birmingham

Post by Matt »

Just got back from a storming RB gig in B'ham. They're on top form at the moment - I'd highly recommend their current UK tour. The next date is tomorrow (Tuesday) at Leeds.

More info at this site

I'll be there so if you will too, drop me a line and I'll see you there. Tonight at Birmingham included much audience interaction and the legendary Rockbitch fistfuck which is extremely rare for UK gigs - if it is anything to go by, Leeds will be awesome.

I remember aproaching them a few years ago to do a paid photo shoot for Ravers and the Sport, and after being messed about for a few weeks with waste of time phone calls, and answering countless silly questions, I was told by their prick of a manager that "it wasn't the kind of image they were looking for!"
II'd only go and see them if their manager was the one being fistfucked!

They no doubt think the same of you, John. And I'm sure they're not alone.

The only difference between them and me, as far as I can see is that I practice what I preach and haven't got my head stuck up my own arse.
I have many faults and I'm the first to hold my hands up when I fuck up and I also have no problem admitting when I've got it wrong and if people don't like it when I speak my mind then TOUGH!

Actually, I've never spent time with a group of people who more practice what they preach then RB. What is easily definable is what their 'preaching'. I don't really know what you claim to be practicing, or infact what you're preaching but I'd be interested to find out, genuinely.

I'll admit, I never met or talked to the band, just their manager, who if you've met, you'll know what I was talking about earlier.
What I was 'bitching' about was here you've got a band who proclaim to be outragious, sexual, contraversial etc. etc.
but when I approached their management about A) doing a feature about them in the Sport and B) doing a photo shoot of them for Ravers magazine, all of which I was willing to pay for. After about a dozen phone calls, and being questioned by the bands 'Spanish Inquision' manager, I was eventually turned down because it wasn't the image they were trying to portray.
Now you can maybe see my side of the story.

Now about me practicing what I preach. I shoot porno both stills for magazines like Two Blue Hardcore for Galaxy Publications and for video productions, for too many companies to list.
I also appear in videos, so I don't shoot anything I haven't already done myself and I wouldn't shoot something that I wouldn't be prepared to do myself.
I have also done interviews for both countless magazines in both the UK and all over the world. I have also appeared on TV talking about the sex industry.
I'm not ashamed of what I do and I'm happy to talk about it to like minded people and I'm not worried about my image. I do what I do and that's it.

I hope this has answered your question and you can now see my point of view. I say things the way I see them, I don't massage egos and because of that I do tend to piss some people off. That's just the way I've always been and I make no appologies for it.

John, I'm aware this thread is getting quite lengthy for what is in essence a two way dialogue, so I consider it closed on this board but would gladly continue in email form if you wish.

I mean you no offense, but you appear to be short on fact when it comes to what RB are about. I'm aware of the 'manager' you speak of, and I'm sure his motives were simply to make sure the band aren't involved too heavily in the porn industry as porn stars, as that's not what they're about. I empathise with your frustration though.

Regards what you are about yourself, what you actually gave me was your CV. I'm less interested in what work you've done and the impressive list of companies you do it for, and I'm more interested in what you preach. You haven't as yet addressed this. What opinions / philosophies / lifestyles are you suggesting you represent or promote? Maybe you don't know yourself - that's not a pop at you, John, merely a possibility.

I look forward to reading your response.

Sorry to butt in on this conversation.

Do people in the porn industry now have to represent certain philosophies and lifestyles? I thought that sort of thing was for pretentious tossers like Bono from U2 and Sting etc. and various crap-head journalists. The day I buy a porn film and find someone spouting on about "finding your inner self" (no pun intended) is the day I start a campaign to ban porn.

Surely fistfucking on stage is more about creating publicity than some statement on philosophy or lifestyle.

No offence Matt but surely Mr Mason is merely trying to make a living rather than make some grand statement on the meaning of life. Now stop argueing about nothing lads.

Well, this would be true was it not for the fact that RB actually do represent a lifestyle. I'm not suggesting people in porn 'should' or 'do' represent anything at all, but Mr Mason did say that unlike them, he 'practices what he preaches' which would suggest that he does represent something - I'm just interested to find out what. :)
