If your computer is sent off to be fixed and there is loads of hardcore pics on it including screen savers etc(just regular-not any kids or animal stuff)will you get into any trouble? if so what would happen?

Nothing would happen Richard. It is not illegal to possess any kind of porn unless it concerns people under 16 years of age.

This is why I am slightly concerned about why so many people are posting these requests for wiping their PC`s. What is it they need to hide? Are they members of the Garry Glitter Society?

I was govong them the benefit of doubt. Could have been surfing the web from work. Or have a new partner moving in.

The police/FBI tend to catch up with the Gary Glitter brigade sooner or later anyway.

Maybe they are newly sharing the computer with the wife or the kids, or donating the computer to a family member, or having the computer repaired by a friend or stranger. Just because porn is legal does not necessarily mean you want everyone to know you are collecting it.
