Remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. You could be opening your computer up to key logging, trojans and viruses of all sorts that it could ultimately end up costing you the price of a computer if you are really unlucky.
The music/video/porn industry has been peddling that line since they realised what a threat it (filesharing) was. Whilst i dont condone the sharing of copyrighted files, its pretty much impossible on most of the big torrent sites to pick up such stuff, with applications its different, but for videos its almost impossible.

You get a popular client from its homepage, its virus free. You goto popular torrent site and download vids in WMV/AVI/MPEG format........none of which has the ability to execute any program on your computer, so has 0% chance of supplying a virus/trojan. Most big video/xxx sites will no longer accept RAR/ZIP/EXE in there torrents, so even if the user is clueless he still cant get a virus.

Was there a reason my post was deleted? All i said was that the risk of getting a virus/trojan from downloading a AVI/MPG/WMV was next to nothing, i specifically said that i was against downloading of copyrighted content in any form and didnt mention anything that would be considered illegal or flamebait. If you wish to delete my post again, could you refer me to the section of the FAQ where im breaking any rules, or let me know why?
