Well he aint far off and it aint what it used to be but the truth is, this business is evolving and one has to find new ways to adapt to it and its not necessarily to go extreme or harder as some would think but thats just a matter of opinion.
The way i see it, unless blokes sudenly get bored of watching sex then its game over but the truth is...its now bigger than ever.
Its just the multitude of ways people go to getit has increased that there is no longer one or several ways of making sales. Now its all spread over many different options (torrent sites not withstanding)
In other words: it aint all doom and gloom for everyone but he does make a point that this industry is gone to shit now that the big american deals have gone te way of the do do and this is largely to the emergence of so many producers coming through in that the huge slices of cake shared by the few have now become crumbs spread across the many.

You know you've watched too much British porn when halfway through that interview you're expecting Ben to say to Jane Hill: "so, you're a naughty little thing, why don't you just lift up that skirt and let us see that pussy then..."
I know it was probably a joke, but I love the image of Ben reading the Daily Mail!

No, he is a Daily Mail reader.
The jokes were him having to sell a car or watch or not heat his swimming pool...

Re: Ben Dover on BBC News 24
ben does say that 'if he had to rely on dvd sales at the present time.. he might have to sell etc " so he is taking the piss a bit and at no point does he claim to have been affected. But the points about piracy and the government losing money have been made on here before, certainly by myself and one eyed jack if not by lots of others that i haven't read.
I might be going over old ground but piracy, and I'm taliking about dvd, will not decrease until it is easier to buy dvd's, cheaper and at a much more widespread variety of premises than is currently available. Also there needs to be some challenge to the law against mail order within Britain, surely covered by restrictive practice laws when it is preventing the running of a legitimate business. Can anyone tell me why r18 dvd licensed shops are allowed to swap films for a tenner etc - I can't think of any other business where this happens I can't go to Tesco and buy a kettle today and swap it for a better kettle next week having used it so why do the very businesses who sell your product allow you to be short changed so regularly. If you can swap it for a tenner it must be possible to sell it for a tenner if the units are doubled, trebled etc from sales alone. The government needs to be reminded that it is losing money, VAT etc - it might not like the business but it likes it's taxes etc that it is currently getting in and the printers, distributors, disc producers etc like their jobs and the government wants their tax etc - this bit is never ending.
