Sorry to mention this again, the slow dying of a once great site, but I really cannot imagine why anyone would join and why it needs to carry on...its not the look of the site, that could be changed easy, but the content... BORING or what...!flush!

which brings me to the following question...

when do you call time on your site?

for example Mr J Slip's site... still good but how long will that format keep going?? I hope Jim could keep going forever but as the whole site is centred around him, a similar format to Lady Sonia... all around one key person.

Is it best to run the site into the ground or should you call time???

I know Real Couples doesnt come under that because we've been altering the format since it started which we feel many of our members are happy with but the variation also comes from the couples themselves so you never know what youre going to get untuil you see it. Theres been a few surprises in their which have got an emotional response and subsequent apology but I think if you can move your audience emotionally then you will keep your members interested.

I'm always looking out for interesting couples and have actually cut off shoots half way when I see they were not working.

On the other hand i think the gonzo pov thing, site based around one character will become played out if you dont keep things interesting and I think the success to some sites is that they have become multi layered within a site, providing cvarious niches within the same site and this is what new sites and single girl sites are up against.

Why go for the one when you can have a lot more for the same price?

I think my One Man Banned site has been doing well because ive always shot a variety of things and bought in other peoples shoots too to keep the variety and contrast going. Plus I definitely think a consistent blog lends some credibility to the product.

People in porn seem to think the consumer just wants tio see fucking. If they wanted that then they could go download it for free from a hundred torrent sites.

Make it personal and interactive and invite comments is why pay sites do better than generic sites that just offer all you can eat wall to wall fucking.

As I said, if people are looking for a quick fix then the tube sites will win handsdown.

Also i think if certain producers of content are lsoing interest then they shouldnt be cynical and keep shooting for the sake of it.

The punter knows when a site is becoming boring as you've just pointed out Von Boy.

It makes sense then that some producers dont see that if they have become desensitised to it all over the years.

All these new producers that come in doing gonzo / pov thinking they are doing something different but are merely doing what everyone else has been doing all along with the same girl.

i totally understand why performers get confused if they cant just turn up and fuck and think you weird for trying something new because everyone else is doing it and thats another reason why it is so hard for new producers to break through.

Its far too easy to just blame it on the recession.

I think you raise some interesting comments.I think with Lady Sonia it's not so much about a "Format" but about a person, so if you are a fan, or like her, you will enjoy anything and everything that she does.I think only a female lead can command this kind of loyalty.

Jim Slip on the other hand is a real mystery as it seems to just keep getting bigger and bigger.I have no idea why, as I see myself as an old bloke in a suit with specs.Maybe I'm too close.I think porn is far too deep to attribute a "Format" to a particular idea. Like Terry says, an format can have, "Multi layers" and in turn these layers can evolve and change constantly.
