BGAFD Victim of its own popularity ?

Post by Jay »

Hi Peeps

Whilst I appreciate that it has been mentioned on one or two recent occasions, I was wondering if anyone else is finding the site incredibly slooooooow of an evening ? Are the hits notching up and slowing the server bigtime, or is it just a case of poor host bandwidth ? Alternatively, is it just my connection with bt.openwoe.

Thoughts ?

Probably popularity, but evenings are always bad. Better that than 1 post per week, I s'pose!!

Probably due to the fact that recently, there have been an incalcuble number of assholes posting the most stupid remarks and questions that they could easily have had answered in their local video shop or by "sucking and seeing". I have to say that a lot of posts are asinine, time and bandwith-consuming and utterly pointless. Is it New Year madness or has someone poisined my scotch.
By the way, do'nt some of you clowns realise that using different names is also consuming, wasteful and a liberty to those ( not me) who wish to access(& an insult to everyone's intelligence.
Bless you my children & go get some serious psychological advice.

Thank you for being so patient with those of us not blessed with the knowldege of the industry you have gained over your 100 years in the biz.
And God forbid that any fool should be so presumptuous as to try to lighten the forum up by the odd bit of nonsense.
While I agree that multiple pseudonymy is asinine, your criticism of those who won't 'suck and see' is similarly moronic: if I can advise someone as to whether or not a title is worth buying, then they might be able to spend their hard-earned more wisely.......or do I detect a note of self-interest here?
Enjoy your Blended.

We have some good Scotch at the moment. Oops Ive just used an asinine psuedonym! Sorry Marcus. Try lightening up a bit. Most threads have a serious or interesting point and a bit of humour livens the place up.

Its a fact that Scotch makes people bad tempered. We have some excellent Russian Vodka on at the moment. Theres a discount for pensioners.

The only thing that makes me me bad-tempered about scotch is when I'm running out of it at the wrong time. Anyway, what's the deal on the vodka-I've got lots of Russianish(!?)female friends.
Apart from anything else, my place is known to the initionated as the best bar in London-it's free & so's the entertainment

I do agree with Marcus, actually. Although it cheers me to know that I'm a better person then the irritating losers who actually think they're funny by making up very unfunny names for themselves, they do kind of spoil things a bit. I remember when the forum was a reliable place for some interesitng banter... now it seems that what you mostly get here are the folk who've been kicked out of clubs and groups online for the same reason, I bet. It's not about lightening up, it's about having a life.

Woodgnome, Phil, are you checking your referer logs to
make sure some cheap-ass adult webmaster isn't clogging
your site by trying to make a buck off all the images you
have on here (ie putting img src=http://bgafd.co.uk/some/image.jpg multiple times in
their free or avs website ?)

I wonder about this, because the new site seems to have got slower when you moved the domain over to it
