As far as I can see, Nikon have dropped all their slide scanners except the model 9000, the very costly one that handles up to 6x9 transparencies.
The 4000 model apears to date from about 2001, but it's not listed any longer.
What is the best scanner for 35 mm only, that can be fitted with a bulk feeder - and doesn't require constant attention?
Thanks
Peter

I guess as no-one shoots trannies anymore, no-one scans them either, so it's likely slide scanners aren't a profitable product line anymore.
I guess you can only keep an eye on ebay and the like for a 4000 and sf200.
Don't know if any other makes exist.

When I've finished scanning the thousands of slides I have I will have two for sale. Not sure how long that will take though.

I plan on keeping mine. Too hard to replace as we can see!
I've done slide scanning for others in the past, but unless you have a market for the scans or really need to keep them, it just isn't worth paying anyone to scan them for you these days, even if they only work for minimum wage. (Which I don't! Although reasonable offers considered, etc)

Hi Paul
Still scanning. If you want them afterwards you'll have to come to Czech to pick them up or pay for shipping.
Most of what's left is now what I shot here in CZ. I had to scan the early slides for Astral Blue even scanned some of the negatives I had to get the really early stuff. I started by selling photos of girls via mail order.
