... but essentially the notion of remakes [or the latest appalling US euphemism,
're-imaginings'] betrays a stunning lack of originality [although to be fair
Hollywood has essentially been re-working the same 10 basic plots since the 20s].
The current rash of 'porn parodies' range from utterly unfunny [just do the
fucking, who needs referential context?] to faintly amusing if you're three-parts
pissed. Some of the sex ain't bad, though of course it'd have been better were
the prods. to remember their essential focus.
A lot of it seems to be so that all concerned can kid themselves that they're
making legit film rather than skin-flicks. Whatever......
... as to the Roccos and RTs [in particular]- how can you 'remake' something so
intrinsically sui generis? Improvement is impossible, and mere duplication a
pointless injustice [and often an insult, when euphemised by the cynical term hommage.

Some classic's should just be left.

I was not refering to those awful 'porn parodies' ,but the Classic's.
My ever first posting was to introduce myself and ask the light hearted question.
"What films would you describe as British Classic's" and if repeated should be treated with respect.

You caught me in the mood for a rant : -)

'Classics'? I'd plump for Ben at his peak [an obvious choice]- and for a more
modern slant maybe some of Tanya Hyde's stuff- athough they're of course not
quintessentially British in flavour, unlike Dover. Maybe the better parts of OEJ's
early stuff, for the gonzo enthusiasm- although some of the more vertiginous
camera-work would do credit to an episode of CSI.
I find it quite tough: not surprisingly, it's easier to name examples of bad porn
than good.

In my opinion a Hollywood remake would be because the plot was a classic or shocker, a good porno is visual, either a pornstar or a peticular sex scene that gets you hooked on watching it again and again. A remake wouldn't cut it for me.

Even sequels of Debie does didn't do it for me like the original.

A remake of the 1970s Confessions soft pornos but now shot hardcore using some mainstream actors !wink!

Ref British Classic's

I agree Ben Dover's early work is far better than his recent work and a modern hardcore of the confessions would be something.
But we almost have that today.just without the humor.
Maybe even a remake of the Mary Millington films.
