Re: hardcore in newsagents
I think you're right, Joe. The "traditional" Indian-run corner shop is usually best for a good range of top shelf h/c.

Re: hardcore in newsagents
The 'hardest' mag you'll find in a WHS supplied newsagent will be something like TopGear with it's 1/4" thick glued spine.

Re: hardcore in newsagents
Although I have seen these in Newsagents they tend to have the cumshots removed? I this the case with the one you found?

Re: hardcore in newsagents
been meaning to make a post about this myself...
my local newsagents (east african asian run for the record) now has enexpurgated copies of pirate magazine on its top shelf! i nearly bought no. 65 the other day but malaga, the lovely shop keepers daughter, suddenly appeared behind the counter and i ended up buying a bar of galaxy chocolate instead!
can one of our resident leagle eagles confirm the letter of the law on this matter?
as i understand it, there are no restrictions on what a newsagent can display/sell, beyond what the obscene publications act routinely covers at any given moment in time.
consequently, if juries of the day no longer deem h/c to be obscene, a shop owner can sell any publication of that type without fear of retribution. this differs from the restrictions that govern the sale of moving images, as they have to pass certification/classification by the bbfc, as a matter of law?
correct, or have i had one pint of kronenberg to many?

Re: hardcore in newsagents
I buy all my h/c mags from about half a dozen local newsagents - I thought this was the norm these days.
One of them seems to be run by a bunch of East European asylum seekers, but otherwise they are just conventional English corner-shop type efforts.
I might have to go online/mail order for Hustler XXX 12, though, cos the one that sells them only has Nos 5 6 & 14 at the moment. (Whinge, whinge.)

The Kronenburg has not affected your understanding of the situation old bean. Perhaps if you had been drinking Stella then your post would be as mad as one of mine.
Mags do not go through any censors so they are the guys who slowly keep pushing the envelope. And expanding the definition of what is acceptable under the OPA (an ancient and obscure bit of legislation). There is not even a law saying they have to keep the mags on the top shelf. One of my local asian newsagents has a better selection than the local DS shop. Well done Kashif! Hes got some very cheap booze aswell but dont tell C&E cos it comes in a van from Belgium.
I remember the 80`s when mags like Fiesta imposed self cencorship by airbrushing girls ring-pieces out and also brushed any fanny shots wich showed too much pink. The letters page however was very hardcore with tales of fisting, watersports and anal (which was still illegal to practice in privacy at the time), oh yes, a man could be jailed for doing his mrs up the pooper until 1994.

Re: hardcore in newsagents
It was the German edition - full cumshots, the lot. Its a great indian corner shop, but this is the only h/c they have. I havent been to my DS shop for a couple of years, but they only had the licensed UK edition with no cumshots or anal.
I didnt buy it or check the price.

Re: hardcore in newsagents
what i found amazing was that when i lived in germany you couldnt egt this is newagents, or any h/c for that matter. i find it amazing that you get more hardcore more easily here than in germany.
