double standards

Post by marcusallen »

I refer to the threads re "hookers", "working girls" whatever.
There are some very intelligent remarks herein and I wonder what some of "the rest" think when they either criticise or sneer-or even label-these very nice ladies. They are doing the best they can at the time for economic reasons (in some cases they just love it) Who are we to judge or label. Many people on this forum log onto various sites with an eye on the screen and a dick in their hand-fine. Thats why the News of the World has the largest circulation. The question of who does what and why, is largely economic as I said in mt reply earlier.

I'd never presume to 'sneer at' or criticise at anyone trying to make a crust in whatever way they choose (or are forced into by economic circumstances), as long as that doesn't involve ripping anyone off.
However, any attempt at being non-judgmental is a cop-out: we ALL make judgments, consciously or otherwise.........it's part of being human. As long as you try to judge fairly, there shouldn't be a problem.
Here's a judgmentfor Marcus: Laphroaig, the best Scotch on the planet.
