Tube sites & ATVOD

We have been talking with a webmaster in Scotland who as been asked for more tube sites rather than the normal site designs because of the ATVOD stealth taxes, is having a tube site the way forward for people that are UK based with their business?

He was explaining the costs can double even treble making a tube site compared to the standard adult site but as they are exempt at the moment this could be the way forward, what's your views on this guys.

I'm that mad man on the soap box who has always said that the tube sites could be a very good tool to use but here we are blinded on the stolen content aspect of it all

Lets not forget how the internet came to be in the first place. Change is painful but change is also inevitable.

The business model has always been about traffic but the argument is how to convert that traffic into cash: ADVERTISING

We are far from being wet behind the ears when it comes to ATVOD Danni lol!
We are looking at platforms for others not our own stuff like e.g. adultwork, the costs will go into thousands & this will be shared with a couple of fellow film makers.

Like anything else we could be pissing in the wind but the fact we have survived for 15yrs should give us some credit unlike a lot of the flash in the pan crowd who think they know everything.

The way forward now is not with your own footage but a platform for others to upload to e.g. a TUBE SITE based overseas, as Terry said members, advertising & affiliates fetch in in the revenue not a single producers footage like as you say my Kims Bra Busters site would dominate the site.

As you seem to be the expert on ATVOD Danni please feel free to explain your definitions of a tube site as we think you don't seem to grasp what's what on this subject.

The reason tubes did/could make more money was because you could set one up easily and then just 'nick' copyrighted material or allow others to upoad others content.
The biggest co in porn Manwin started this way and now own almost every big tube site (inc xhamster in your signature) so aside from DMCA issues and possible uploading of illegal/underage content, trying to compete with them doing the same thing is pretty much a non starter.

An argument I have used to point out why tube sites should come under ATVOD scrutiny as they do have editorial control if they remove illegal or disapproved of content.

Its hard for anyone to be a seasoned expert on ATVOD when they seem to be moving the goalposts within their "5 points caught" rule.

I thought Pete Johnson made himself very clear when he told us what ATVOD was all about which you can hear in this podcast recording. This is more aimed at the adult business as he did attend an AITA meeting when he said this:-

If I have anything to say to Pete Johnson it would be on the basis of what he said and no one elses version because Im hearing of them going after people uploading content to adult work now LOL

I doubt they used the tubes as an excuse at all as all the tube sites appear to be untouched by ATVODS rules and as far as I know this was never levied at the adult business but with more commercial interests in mind.

I honestly dont know what purpose ATVOD effectively serves if its main priority is to protect children from age innappropriate content. From where Im standing they are all bit effectively shutting down the sites and encouraging those who were left to just get it for free from the tubes and filesharing sites.

If anyhting they used the Bailey Report to get it mandated with OFCOM

ATVOD will eventually find a way to stop tube sites in the way they upload but by then there will be other loop holes we can use, its seems our whole time in the industry as been dodging one rule for another over the years as something somewhere as been illegal at times lol!

The tube sites including Adultwork are coming in line with the material uploaded e.g. no really strong stuff that wouldn't be allowed by the BBFC, it makes you wonder if these guys have had the heads up from some one ?
