Is this site now losing its impact/importance

Post by Kyle Richmond »

I discovered this site provably 2001/2002, didn't make any posts until some yrs later and liked the info you could source and the posts.
It may be my imagination, but weren't there more posts years ago certainly on this forum , like you'd open up the page and the new posts on the threads was a page or more, so far today only 3 threads have posts made today. now you open up and there don't seem to be many daily posts .ok, some threads will run on a bit like the recent Thorne/Lowe posts but not much else seems to start up and run.
Also, when i first got here loads of films were reviewed, now a model can have numerous listings and not a single film reviewewd, i suppose the old reviewers have gone and nobody else will do reviews.

i think lack of posts is quite a common problem on may forums these days. The majority of people use forums for either arguments or downloads. We might have plenty of the former but since we have none of the latter the novelty will soon wear off. Also most people are now using twitter and facebook to voice opinions to the largely disinterested. Add in the general slowdown in the british industry, the fact that fewer dvd's are released, most girls are using adultwork rather than movies as their primary income source and that for every great performer (samantha, lexi, michelle, karina, katie k etc) there are 20 or so you wouldn't cross the road for and it's not hard to understand why there's less activity on here.

Unfortunately facebook seems to have really taken over everything in terms of discussion platforms.

I have to say that this forums is invaluable for nuggets of information, especially with regards with finding out who is still industry active or retired. I wouldn't know of any of the Scottish stars out there and in the past if it wasn't for this place.

big ups

Maybe everyone is al porned out for all the free-ness out there

There was a time when people treated porn like school boys collecting marbles, priding themselves for having that one special video that everyone went phwoarr too.

I guess those folk grew up

Well one reviewer is still around, but I've got out of the habit of reviewing, especially since the last batch of reviews I submitted took four months to be posted.

My main interest here has always been the database, initially in 2002 to identify the performers in my collection. And I stuck with the database even when history was rewritten, names were changed and picture id's removed. Fortunately the iafd, though not as comprehensive on British girls, is always available to cross reference my own database.

However the policy of the mods to stick to only film/dvd titles has meant many new girls never make it to the database or there is a long time lag between early appearances and the release of scenes on dvd.

I understand the all the extra work involved in adding webscenes and the pressure on the very small admin team here, but broadening the remit and the number of administrators would have helped. And if the founders loose interest, don't moderate or refresh the look [the last makeover was ten years ago] then the slow decline sets it. The average rate of adding new talent to the database over the past year is just over one girl a fortnight.

I'll continue to pop in occasionally, post occasionally, but it's not the source it was.

Maybe the mods simply cant be bothered.

Maybe all the trolls have taken their toll or maybe the site is under new management and is just running its course till it fizzles out.

I reckon there is a lot of life left in this site if manage properly

i remember reading loads of the bayleaf reviews and others when i first got on the site, great use because then if you didn't know much about a model after a few reviews read you could work out things "she only seems to do solo or gg"
now hardly any reviews and from what i can see of it new TAC/playboy/TVX series are not added to a models list , think the title may only get listed if it gets a dvd release .
sure one of my favourites keira knight has done other stuff for TAC and possibly TVX thats not listed on her profile.
and most of the people who are in the biz/been in the biz don't seem to be around now, not much from jimslip/angel long /marino/anjali/disanto...just a few of the stalwarts like OEJ and dave wells seem to pop in.
