Beware of manipulated links

Post by sparky »

For the Pascals Subsluts site preview page for Tasha Holz the correct link is

http://galleries.pascalssubsluts.com/OC ... a-holz.php?

and should you wish to join use
http://www.pascalssubsluts.com/sluts/join.php

The preview page from the Tasha Holz link by Howsu678 becomes

http://galleries.pascalssubsluts.com/OC ... My4wLjAuMA

while the actual clickable link contains
http://join.pascalssubsluts.com/gallery ... My4wLjAuMA

Both links have been manipulated by the addition of
MzAyLjMuNS45LjAuNjAwMTA5My4wLjAuMA/

This is an example of why clickable links here must be treated with caution and likewise all links on that Wikismut site.

While a little more work if any doubts the far safer option is using established search engines.

To be fair, those are simply affiliate codes. It enables the site in question to tell who sent the visitor to the site. Thats all. Nothing nefarious.

Precisely.

I don't honestly know why some peeps are so paranoid. Malware trackers are mostly unreliable. They tend to reassure the user that it's working by flagging anything up.

He maybe spamming us to death, but there is no malware in his posts.

He is spamming the links because as an affiliate he will make money from clicks.

Regarding being paranoid it only takes following one bad link to end up with an infected PC and perhaps not realise for a while. I am reasonably savvy plus can clean up a PC and do not share it. Others are not plus could end up in awkward situation from visiting sites they ought not to.

I support those who use clickable links so long as the exact link is shown then if unsure it is easy to see the site and check it is correct not fake nor has a tag added. Here pascalssubsluts could be a fake as pascalsubsluts or pascalssubslutz. Another route would be .net or .biz instead of .com.

When they are in this case Tasha Holtz instead without checking the link there is no way of know the site the link is to.

Found this webpage that's pretty good at scanning a file or weblink. It searches through all the well known anti virus/malware programmes out there.
