The other day a friend happened to show me an old magazine/catalogue from Fiona Cooper. It had been over 25 years since my last encounter with anything from Ms Cooper and her ventures into the world of audio and visual productions, in fact before the internet came into widespread use.
It's been quite interesting (and extremely shocking) catching up reading the posts on this forum about the exploits of ?Fiona? who it seems was also assisted by ?Chloe? and ?Nadine? !wink!
Looking at my friends catalogue it surprised me that, on the first page, ?Fiona? mentions in her introductory text that in 1994 they may be introducing a range of Fiona Cooper die cast models!!!!
Wooo.... photosets, VHS videos, CD's and laserdiscs are one thing but did they really produce (presumably) small plastic figurines of the ladies who appeared in their videos?
Does anyone out there know more about the Fiona Cooper die-cast models? Did they ever get produced? What did they look like? How many were there? How much did they cost? Where can I see a picture of one? Were they popular? What poses were the model ladies in? More worryingly what was anyone supposed to do with one of the die cast models if they happened to be lucky enough to get one?
I would e-mail ?Fiona? to ask my question directly but from reading these forums it seems she ?is no longer with us? hence the closure of the company.... !shocked!
Fiona Cooper : Die cast models?
Re: Fiona Cooper : Die cast models?
No the business is no longer about because the guy who ran it is currently unavailable

Re: Fiona Cooper : Die cast models?
Then I may have to wait a few years to get an answer to my question.
I'm sure Chloe will have a change of mind and get things going again when she has the necessary support again...... !wink!

Re: Fiona Cooper : Die cast models?
Was it ever established how the owner of that company managed to release hardcore porn on vhs in the UK for so 20+years without it being legal to do so at the time and without a BBFC certificate even after it was? Why did it take his other misdemeanours for him to become Her Majesty?s guest?

It's one of those situations in the uk adult industry which is just begging for a book to be written about it or a 90 minute documentary. I'm sure there's conspiracy theories or the possiblity of legal loopholes aplenty that would try to explain how. If you think about the production of advertising materials, catalogues etc for example it's impossible that all of that was done 'in house' certainly at the start or during the early years. And time-wise it's impossible that the whole set up was a one man job, so is it maybe a company registered offshore? There's only one person going to be able to answer these sorts of questions.

Could a factor have been ' It is not what you know but who you know ' ?
As m100 says it was a business / company not a one-man-band and required outsourcing e.g. printing and duplication or associated companies also doing other work to be viable. Back when VHS was the current format I wonder how many were typically dispatched a week. I guess too many to take even to several Post Offices.
Probably all a tangled web but given the UK base was known an investigation team starting there surely would have been able to unravel a good proportion of it. One day there may well be an investigation as to why this was not done at all.

Re: Fiona Cooper : Die cast models?
There are times in some of the dvds where you can tell that other people are on the premises. Voices can be heard, telephones ring and are obviously answered because they don't ring for very long and doors are heard closing. I know you're probably thinking he's not paying attention to what he's supposed to be watching for but my hearing is way above average (unfortunately the same can't be said about the rest of me). Sparky i think you're right in true conspiracy theory style it probably does come down to who you know etc. I doubt there will ever be an investigation though as it's not an issue 99% of the public will be aware of. Other porn producers in Britain though must be aware of how though. For example look how quick the police/courts were to act against ben dover/linzi drew for selling videos and yet that was a short-lived drop in the ocean compared to 'fiona'. Maybe if one eyed jack gets ben to do a live show someone could raise this as a question?
Re: Fiona Cooper : Die cast models?
took all of 2 seconds to find that on google

Just make the bottom bigger to prevent it falling forwards !wink!
