Re: bt broadband question
My pc is not pentium and works fine.
When you phone bt they ask you what your pc is anyway.
The book they send you says:
pc:
40bytes hard drive
cd rom
usb port
pent 2 233 or above
64mb memory
win 98 or above

Re: bt broadband question
Unfortunately some sites only quote the Intel spec, rather than the cheaper and often better AMD version. I ran DSL until recently on an AMD 650 without any problems. Not even worth a call to BT, go ahead and enjoy highspeed pr0n.

Re: bt broadband question
By the way with bt plug and go, you have somthing like 7 days to send it back if you do not like it.

Re: bt broadband question
Till I upgraded last year I was using an 800AMD with 5Gb for my 1mb broadband connection with no problems, things are even quicker now I've got a 1.4 AMB & 55Gb. In the days before broadband and people were using 56k phonelines fast PCs were no good cause the phoneline was so slow, now with fast permanent connections a fast PC is needed, 800+ should suffice IMHO
