Since JJ is doing the French gags

Post by golostruda »

it's only fair I do the British ones: What would John Leslie make a perfect Royal Navy pilot? Because he finds it hard to control his chopper. (Yes, this is offensive but no more so than the anti-French claptrap. 88% of the world's population oppose the war in Iraq and so too, I would suspect, does the majority of this forum. For the first time in decades, France has acted with principles - and still you diss them? Bizarre!)

the extent to which 'principle' is guiding france's policy of opposition would seem to be debatable:

Makes me sick to the stomache knowing that foreign policy is driven economic goals

Now that Australia is in bed with America we're talking trade

Ethics in politics...like America buying the security council members to gain a majority...farcical...almost corrupt

cheers

.......and the same oil logic applies to Russian 'principles'.
Neither nation has a particularly good record in respecting the rights of either individual or statehood, and both have been justly accused in the past of atrocities.

Happily there seem to be limits developing as to exactly how far US financial influence will go: see Turkey over the w/end, for example.
