My work laptop is due to go for a service soon and i access this site and others with it.
My firms laid back but but avoid embarassment any pointers on how to cover my web tracks etc.
I know the obvious on like delete history etc but anymore especially how do you erase the explorer toolbar from sensing were youve looked at sites in the past.
Any help on this problem would be really apreciated.
Thanks

Re: technical help
Just to worry you Jonno. No matter what advice you get, if techies want to look into your innermost secrets they'll find them. Unless, of course, you remoce the hard drive. I'm an evil b*****d sometimes.

Re: technical help
AFA I'm concerened, the only way to be SURE is to drop the HDD into a bath of hydrochloric (or preferably sulphuric) acid, or site the thing at the centre of a VERY hot bonfire........

Re: technical help
Looked up "History" and waded thro' posts. This has some relevant info. and, for the first time, used "copy" and "paste". Cor, never realised there was an easier way to post links.

Re: technical help
use evidence eliminator, you can download trial version, do a search on google, it won't hide everything, but i'm sure it will be adequate for run of the mill company techies.

Re: technical help
get a new drive and install a new OS (while keeping the drive you use to browse separate),relatively cheap these 6MB removeable drives I think.
Format the drive in dos and re-install the drive with new OS
you are making backups (of important data) aren't you?
