Re: time machine
Leave it out Caractacus? man! - If you were to do that I might be instantly transported over to an alternative universe of proletarian drudgery. A grey world of dispirited shuffling proles. A world of industrial decay, unrest and 'Winters Of Discontent.' A world presided over by 'Red Robbo.' In this unhappy space time continuum I wouldn't have any wedge, no flash motor and top totty wouldn't even give me the time of day! When going about my daily business receptionists would turn their noses up at me and direct me towards the tradesmen's entrance, instead of greeting me with a warm smile, a cup of expresso, and assurances that 'Mr Big Cheese' the MD wouldn't keep me waiting more than a nanosecond.
What a horrible thought hey? To think that in many of those alternative universes Mrs T was run over by a bus while out campaigning in April 79 and consequently my alternative self is still caked in crap digging ditches (along with everyone else) for ?85.00 quid a week! Arggghhhh!!! Wake me up, wake me up!
Wanna go back to that? Saming rong wiv ya!
Dibble

Re: time machine
I'm not saying everything she did was bad, Constable (I mean, her "me" brand of economics allowed you to prosper for one) but she was such a heartless witch----and after all, even Mussolini got the trains running on time.
As of this time, I'm still only 45,742nd in line to shite on her grave when she goes.

Re: time machine
I think you missed a couple of zeros off that figure Caractacus.
But my doctor has forbidden me from talking about Thatcher with Officer Dibble as it makes my blood pressure soar and causes me to make antisocial outbursts towards the Officer regarding the death of heavy industry, the miners strike and 5 million on the dole who didnt share ODs good fortune to be driving flash motors and having lunch with Teresa May.

Re: time machine
Having luch with Teresa May is good luck
You must be joking...seriously
Having your hair cut by her....OK
This whole argment about politicians really is mind numbing
Given that most political parties don't ever poll more than 40-50% of the first preference votes means that who ever is in power is always going to be despised by at half the population
Don't get me started on free market globalisation
cheers
B...OZ Co-operatives for me
