I actually met Paxo on a fishing trip in Oxford a few years ago, he is really a nice person and gets embarrassed about his interview techniques. Lets face it, he REALLY does do a good job making those poncey politicians squirm with his questions. I'd make him an OBE without questtion.

I was wrong. Paxman just sucked his own cock live on telly! During an interview with Oliver Letwin. He muttered "ears"(his way of saying yes) then hunched over in his chair and blew his own trumpet. Letwin wasnt phased at all and kept on talking about IDS (Tory leader whose initials sound like a bowel complaint).

He did seem like a really nice bloke on Parkinson and said he sometimes wakes up in the night feeling guilty about thrashing his interview victims.

Paxo confessed once that politicians liked being interviewed by Frost or Dimbelby as they are brown noses who dont throw a sucker punch of a question when the interviewee is on the ropes. Paxo especially liked to 'do' William Hague as Hague fancied himself as an intellectual who 'fancied his chances' and ALWAYS came up short against Paxo! Apparently, it was a 'personal thing'
