Manchester United

Love 'em or Hate 'em, hats off to the Mancs for winning the title. Arsenal blew it BIGTIME a few games ago. Put 'em down to win it next season, they are awsome, even if people like me can't stand them!!

I followed football a bit until I was about 14.I just thought to myself that it is a bit pointless following teams-cum-business conglomerates who are based hundreds of miles away because all your pals like them.I am only into international games now, have no time for club football.Though if I were asked to pick I have some sort of liking for Celtic and Liverpool, and can not help smiling when Man U get their arses kicked, primarily because it so badly pisses off the legions of supporters of the Man United corporation(sorry,I meant football team of course).
Maybe I will regain interest but I dont think so.

I don't follow soccer but if I did it would have to be a team I had some sort of association with. I just don't understand the modern phenomenon of supporting a team because it's successful and gets lots of publicity even though it's hundreds/thousands of miles away from you.
My father, in his youth, supported Merthyr Town because it was the local team. That meant, for home games, walking several miles over the hills to a match. He and his mates couldn't afford to travel to away games.
OK, this sounds corny. But thats what support really means.

Call be cynical but that challenge and reaction of that baby faced Norwegian on Sol Campbell was first class acting.Must have been taking lessons from Klinsmann

Babyface deserved a red card for that act...did he sustain a serious injury..NO...worse than diving in the box IMO
It got the desired effect...Sol Campbell out for the rest of the season

Quite frankly I don't care who wins the league as they aren't sporting teams anymore just corporations. The team with the biggest budget usually wins

cheers

It's called glory hunting, Mart. Why bother supporting a team for years, travelling to watch them struggle against other sides in the third division, when you can be a Man Utd/Rangers/Arsenal/Celtic/Liverpool fan and enjoy the thrill of being a winner every year?

Such "supporters" are the footballing equivalent of fleas on a dog.
