Radio was responsible for one of the most surreal "comedy" acts.
Ventriloquists e.g. Peter Brough and Archy Andrews. There's a story that Peter Brough once turned up for a radio show, unable to perform because he'd left Archy in a cab.
Anyway, my nominations: The Likely Lads, Dear John (the UK original) and to prove I'm not un-American (please note, Mods) Malcolm in the Middle and Six Feet Under.

MFTM - Richard Murdock & Deryck Guyler were in the one's that I remember.

Does anyone remember "Sykes" with Eric Sykes, Hattie Jacques & Deryck Guyler.

A young Peter Sellers popped up in one once.

Too much to choose from as usual, but from the US, The Larry Sanders Show - "Hank's Sex Tape" was hilarious and also the episode where Larry let Dana Carvey guest host the show and then got paranoid that Dana was better than him and was going to take it over. I also rate Seinfeld highly.

From the UK, "Porridge" was very good, probably Ronnie Barker's best performance (and an excellent supporting cast) but I still have a soft spot for the spoof Roger Cook investigative programmes "This Is David Lander" and "This is David Harper" (with Stephen Fry and Tony Slattery respectively). The episode about the criminal Billy "Paving Stone" Adams was especially funny.

Still hold there own today IMO

Is it just me or does Steve56 resemble Gilligan?
