My earliest memory of actually tucking in every part of the blanket(as was then) and sticking my head right into the wall angle, TFTC. I had 3 or four DIY model figures like Frankenstein, Mummy etc of which parts glowed green and i had to keep them in the wardrobe for a few nights following. Depends on your age i guess but 'Tales from the Crypt' scared me big time. Later found the source for the scariest story in TFTC and read 'The Monkey's Paw'. Good God is that not the scariest story ever written and massively influential. Channel 4 actually showed a B&W shot 1/2 hour adaptation about '89 and it was great. Never seen it since.

HA!!! Same for me Goater, I had every one from Werewolf to Godzilla, with Dracula and Phantom of the Opera my faves!!! They would scare the shit out of me. Aurora made them and you see how much they go for now!! I saw a Creature from the Black Lagoon (non-glow) at ?65 at a comic book site.

I know i had Dracula and Franky but can't recall what else but wasn't all that many, too long ago, Ace but they WHERE dead scary weren't they? A weekend of horror double bills and they were in the wardrobe! Has anybody ever had a golf club alone iin a wardrobe and it slides during the night? Bollocks, that happened to me but can't remember the occassion or film! My memory of the figures is largely vague, Ace and i never knew how many there actually were or which company made them. I distinctly remember Franky and i'm positive the glow bits where white in daylight and they had irregularly shaped bases. Still got some good stuff including the original draft script for 'Dream Demon' by David Pirie. I used to go to horror fares and stuff until recently, one just outside Watford was the easiest for me but i believe that's done now and shifted to HH. No matter as i now live much further North.

These are the ones I had,
Dracula, Frankenstien, Wolfman, King Kong, Salem Witch, Creature from Black Lagoon, Forgotten Prisoner, Godzilla, Dr Jekyll + Mr Hyde, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Phantom of The Opera and The Mummy. The bases were great and the glow bits were always heads, hands etc. Great stuff! What have kids got these days? PC games and the like. What a waste!!

Thanks mate. Will go and have a peek now. I honestly don't remember exactly how many i had but it wasn't that many or which ones. I DO remember they were great and glowed a treat. Cliche but they just don't make them like that anymore do they?

They certainly don't mate. Wish I'd kept them like I did my 1970's mags, now THATS a different story!!

I've got tons and tons of mags, books and general collectors items but i don't keep them for monetary gain but purely because i never grew out of horror. My daughter loves all horror too, she should do as she is a horror!, which is going to keep me going for many years so that's cool!
