Why is this tripe on CH4?
Does anyone watch it.
Big Breakfast was talked about all the time. I loved it.
Why did ch4 pull it off air.
CH4 must have interesting meetings, I wonder if one Monday morning meeting, all the bosses came in and said "Big Breakfast is doing well, getting good ratings, making us cash, I know, lets pull it off air and put on a show know one will watch".

Its all about Ratings!!
The Big Breakfast was losing its ratings on Channel 4 to GMTV on ITV & Breakfast on BBC, So they tried to boost the ratings up but never worked, I agree it was a better show and worth watching for Amanda Byram & Jasmine Lowson, Plus they had babes right through the years like Kelly Brook, Denise Van Outen, Dannii Minogue, Lisa Rogers & many more..... They show was funny and they had good guest on the show. The male presenters like Mike McLean & many others were funny also.
As for RI:SE, They have some nice girls on it or did have some nice girls on it like, Kirtsy, Edith, & Lisa Bonnin. Only good babes left on it are Kate Lawler and Zora Suleman the newsreader. The show seems to tacky and cheap, they could get a better studio and get better guest on it. I only watch it just to see what Kate's gonna be wearing. She gave a quick flash on camera on last Fridays show. But I don't think thats gonna really boost the ratings. The male presenters on this show have been crap, That guy who is Judith Charmers son, he was completly useless and unfunny and made you wanna switch off the TV or turn over and watch something else. Ian the current presenter is just not happening, Can't see the show lasting any longer as its so dull, Who cares about Dating Kates mates, what kind of garbage is that, If you wanna date there plenty of other shows like Blind Date & Dail A Date you can do that on. perhaps this show will be gone by the end of the year.....I feel the ratings for this show are not gonna get any better, It could well be axed, or may be they will see out the contract of the show and pull the plug on it when its time to renew the contract.

I have a twelve year old niece who thinks it's the best thing since Noah fell off the Ark. She and all her pals rave about it. It's aimed directly at kids and people with the minds of children.
Which raises a question - why do some manufacturers spend money advertising washing powders and cleaning preps on a kids show?

The format of R:SE has gradually got more and more like the Big Breakfast which makes me wonder if they are losing ratings and have tried to recapture the atmosphere and popularity of the BB.
Still at least they have had the sense to get rid off Mel & Sue. Thse two are singularly unfunny and so full of themselves it is unbelievable.

im glad im not the only one ch4 gave them their own show it was crap they spent all the time sucking up to the guests,1 had patrick macnee from the avengers on he didnt know what the fuck they were on about either they were rubbish.

It's not the manaufaturers of the washing powders or cleaning products who decide to air their products at that time. They employ an agency to do it for them. This agency have decided that a lot of mothers will be watching this show as they pack their kids off to school.
The agency may not realise what sort of people are watching this program & are missing their target.
Also they cost of air time is dirt cheap compared to a major show at prime time.

You'd have thought that the brand and product managers with direct responsiblity for the advertising spend per product in the manufacturing houses would have had access to the relevant research which would give a pretty accurate profile of the viewers. Some obviously have - the producers of spot inhibiting creams, depilatories, crisps, etc.
Must have something to do with the belief that publicity, any publicity, is good.

Flett - Can also do with the amount of the budget the angecy gets.
If it's only a small budget then the are bound to choose air time that is cheap.
Many angencies do rely on the audience figures for such show's but this does not tell them who is watching. i.e. school children, young mothers etc you can only do that with audience research out on the streets.
