XP video thumbnails

Can anyone using XP help me out with this? This option on XP shows a preview of the video but appears to default at the first frame. A lot of video's (the one's from Mr Dover's site for example) start off with the same caption - which obviously makes using this option pointless.

Does anyone know a way to change the thumbnail to a more representative picture at all (i.e. one a few more seconds in)?

Hi, alot of movies often have a black/currupt or generally unhelpful first frames.

There's nothing you can do about it really as it depends on how the movie was encoded and when the actual movie starts...

It is very annoying. There may be a shareware application out there that allows you to associate a frame from the middle of the movie but I haven't seen one.
