Classics all. The list of best comedies would be huge, I'd add some of my faves,
The Goodbye Girl - Richard the Third
Passport to Pimlico - the best Ealing comedy?
Sleeper - instant puding!
That Sinking Feeling - great observational & human comedy
Carry On Up the Khyber - if only for the dining scene
Empire's thing is 'influence', if so then where's the Chaplin, Tati, Laural & Hardy? all very important. All these Empire lists are a bit odd IMHO, but are nothing more than a bit of fun really

A CLOCKWORK ORANGE
Very funny especially that scene where they beet that man up and rape his wife whilst singing, "Singing In The Rain"! Also when he beats the old lady to death with a giant wobbly penis, from the sideboard when most people have a china Spaniel or something!
Also where are all the Marx Brothers films, If your talking of influence!
Speaking of which, does anyone know the name of the Marx Brothers film that Is set on a cruise ship and they are stowaways that end up at a party In America? TIA......
