Even up here in bonnie Scotland it's a beautiful day. I've been thinking about it and I do reckon I'm in a slightly better mood when it's sunny, possibly helped by all the female flesh on show! Are you the same, or is it just me that feels more positive when the sun is shining?

I agree with you. I'm much more happier when the suns out. Even more so if I'm not at work. Yes the girls do display more bear flesh when it hot & sunny........yipeee!!

Re: happier when sunny?
My late father in law spent his formative years in Africa, although his family were Scots. He found dark British winters awful and loved the sun.
Frankly, I thought that he had SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder, and advised him to get one of those light boxes that create artificial sunlight to bask in for a spell each day. Not the same as a tanning thing though. He never did, in the winter he was too low to be bothered and in the summer he didn't need one! and that's not a joke, BTW.
I think the boxes are quite expensive and like some bits of medical kit need to be 'prescribed' by a quack, which may have been a disincentive or problem; faced with depressed people GP's can tend to go for the Prozac rather than alternatives.
But yes, gimmie sunshine! I like the sun, but then, I like the clear cold of a frosty morning too!

Re: happier when sunny?
true what you say about cold, frosty mornings feeling good in a different way. just as it feels good to see it pissing down with rain or snow when you're inside looking out.
It must all be to do with stuff getting released in the brain .... and when I say that I mean naturally by the human body!

I'll take Sunshine over gloomy cloud cover anyday
Preferably mid 20s and not high 30s
Only recently learned that when in the sunshine your body starts producing Vitamin D which is said to be the only way of acquiring the right amount.
Diet & vitamins are never enough
cheers

Yes,a lovely early sunny morning...and as for birds...a couple of nesting Robin's chattering away on the tree tops-even they are more 'frisky' when the sun shines...like us all!.

Re: happier when sunny?
Strangley enough, down here in Perth, Australia I notice distinctly less flesh on display when its really hot and sunny because of the skin cancer problems. The best time to see chickettes strutting about in whispy bits of nothing is when its overcast, hot and humid. I loved London's grey skies and rain because it was such a lovely change from near constant sunshine - mind you, I was only there for 3 weeks. Must get back soon.
