Morrissey Is Back PRAISE THE LORD !

Post by Pennywise »

Anyone else looking forward to seeing the Morrissey docu. later tonight (Sunday 8th 11.15pm C4) ? I really hope he hasn't turned into a complete sellout. Its now 20 years since the birth of The Smiths and their stuff still sounds ace. All I need now is The Stone Roses to reform & Syd Barrett to bring some stuff out. Ahhh one can but hope.

Never liked him, but did like Johnny Marr. I hope he has sold out and wants to reform The Smiths just so he could join the never-ending stream of bands that get together for the money.
Incidently, VAST amounts of cash were offered to The Clash, and they NEVER sold out. Ever. Prior to Joe Strummers death in December, The Clash were to be inducted into The Rock Hall of Fame and there was a rumour they would reform for a one-off gig to mark there induction. 3 said yes, Joe said no. He never sold out. If Morrisey hasn't sold out, I hope he is as original as he once was.

Defo lots of credit due to Marr - what a musician - made the Smiths what they were. Joe Strummer was touted as a replacement at the time Smiths split. If it had happened I wonder what it would have been like? I can't see it would have worked at all!

I heard that too and wasnt impressed, so I was happy he took Shane McGowans place in The Pogues. A replacement everybody agreed was a natural move on all parties.

Never liked the Smioths either but I did like the band that Marr later joined. The The, now Matt Johnson is a very good artist indeed.

In fact I'd probably go so far as to say that The The are my fave British artists, or should that be artist?
