not really, but got you to look!
this is not truly on-topic, but it is effecting my ability to download/watch british movies, so in a way I reckon I can get away with it.
When trying to watch downloaded movies (and also when trying to shut down) the pc keeps "locking" and giving the message "msgrsv32 not responding". To sort this out, I have to basically just turn the computer off at the tower.
Any ideas whats causing this? its been ongoing for about 2 weeks now.
cheers lads
(and aplogies to the mods if Off-topic)!!

Re: problem with downloaded movies
Do you get that message when you press Ctrl Alt Del? If so, hit End Task. You may have to repeat that action.

This is a little prog which resides in c:\windows\system
It performs a variety of background tasks which allows Windows (sounds like you have Win 98) to operate.
Because it is crapping out it is causing a general protection fault and hence you get a blue screen.
Supply me with an e mail address and I'll mail the prog to you. You need to delete the one you've got and put mine in. It's 12Kb in size. Then shutdown and restart.
You can also do a search on Google say which will allow you to download this prog, should be quite easy to find a download site.

Re: msgsrv32 also
By the way when you get the replacement prog off me or from wherever, just paste it into the system file, you will get a prompt asking if you want to replace the existing file, click YES, reboot and thee you are.
