Just seeing anybody with a camera/Video, might be interested in an afternoon shoot....To Be Arranged.... Say 15 people , 3 models, up to Uk Magazine, paying all equal to meet costs, #Near Guilford>Surrey.

I'd be happy to shoot some pro (broadcast quality) DV cam for you for free. It would only cost you the camera hire and some lights and stock. I would need an obliging lift to and from London maybe. Can do it easily for under ?150 probably less. Mail me direct. Weekdays from the end of June are best for me. If you can pay my travel I'll come down to see you first.

This is an offer for people whose hobby is this site, and video,or photography, and would like to take some photos of a few models with few clothes on.
It is not a free lunch, I too own a 3 CCD camcorder, but any one wishing to enjoy a Glamour, Uk Magazine shoot, AND has a wallet, and is willig to Share the costs of such pleasant afternoon, just drop me line.

You should have said as much in your first post, never mind thanks for my offer of giving you my time (camera hire costs only). Calling it a 'free lunch' is pretty rude given that I was offering to help you out and go out of my way for nothing more than expenses, it sounded like you wanted to organise a shoot. I didn't have a 3CCD camera in mind but something like a ?3K camera. 3CDD mini DV isn't nearly as good.

worthy bunch of like minded fella's , not an moaning old git who may not offer what you had hoped or paid for.....

I only made a suggestion. Thought he might want some video to watch which was top notch rather than shite. The fee was for hire and stock costs and it was quite obvious he was going to keep the tape. Interesting definition of a freeloader you have as I was willing to go out of my way and give up my time to do it for him when I could be getting paid to do it somewhere else. Just rude really. Had many takers for this shoot? I doubt it.

You're a great guy, Giles. You clearly realised that this was going to be a really bad event, and it was therefore doubly noble of you to offer to "go out of my way and give up my time to do it for him when I could be getting paid to do it somewhere else". No doubt you would have been thousands out of pocket.
If he had had any sense Hants Fella would have had snapped up your offer immediately, and spurred by your example no doubt a dozen other high-class professionals would have stepped in too, so that those hopeless amateurs with their inferior kit wouldn't have to get it out and embarass everybody.
Of course, there then wouldn't be any room for the amateurs, or indeed, any point in them turning up and paying the bill. But that wouldn't matter, because no doubt the models would be so honoured at being shot by such high-class professionals that they wouldn't want to be paid.
While the high-class professionals with their high-class gear were busy shooting away, no doubt Hants Fella could quietly place a message somewhere like BGAFD and invite other pathetic amateurs with their pathetic gear to get together and hire a couple of models. They could then shoot them in their modest way without a load of patronising professionals telling them their gear is crap and their videos "shite".

No George I'm not patronising anybody, but amateur video does tend to look and sound terrible so I just wanted to help the guy out. I did assume (perhaps wrongly) that he wanted to do something with it. Had I access to free kit over the summer I would have done it for the cost of the stock only.
Quite a nice offer really. Looking at HF's postings it appeared he was quite into the money side of it too, it's possible to make a profit too. I wouldn't call myself a pro videographer because I don't do it all the time, but I can shoot something decent.

Forgot to mention that laughing at other people's kit and ability wasn't ever going to be part of the deal. We all started as 'amateurs' one way or another and there are many 'amateurs' who do some really good things. If somebody had offered free or cost price facilities and been willing to give up their time then I would have been pretty keen on the offer. HF couldn't even say 'no' with good grace which is the mark of an amateur in its most negative sense.
