Technical Problems

Post by lovemunkey187 »

I've got a problem (no smart-arse remarks please)
Very often when I click on the links that, bluetit, megaton et al kindly post open up okay, but after I've looked at the thumbnails and closed that window everything freezes up an error message appears saying that things aren't responding and Iget thrown off. Why does this happen and how can I stop it happening?

Which urls?

I occasionally get frozen screens which i think is due to my computer not being powerful enough to handle multiple tasks at once-not enough RAM I believe-at least thats what the site below told me

Will let you know what your computer is lacking

Cheers buttsie, I tried the link you posted and it was pop-up hell. Off the top of my head I don't know which url's but it does seem like approx 50 to 60% of them do cause a system freeze-up.

my computer is a 1.8GHz, 256MB system so in theory it should be able to handle it. In fact up until I installed Kazaa it could.

Am I the only person that thinks that Kazaa is a monkey for your back once it in your system?
They say AOL is a fucker but this must a very close runner up.

Sorry about the addy popup but I didn't experience any pop ups at all
on any of the links

I'm using Internet Explorer 6....no pop up stopper unless its in IE6

Strange how some experience pop ups and others don't
I know someone who is still using IE5 and he tends to get all these gremlins
where as I do not

When I originally downloaded kazaa.com my system used to freeze all the time as well. When I ran adaware I removed 97 pieces of spyware/adware,
made my computer run faster but my computer still kept freezing
Removed kazaa and everything was OK

With I had similar problems but not as bad because of their being no spyware or adware

I uninstalled Kazaa, did a system search for any spyware and deleted those
But I haven't installed Kazaalite.

Will doing so improve the situation? Or make no difference?.

I am actually thinking of going back to one of the restore points that XP lets you do. Doing this will take me back to a time before I installed Kazaa, correct? But will it get rid of any spy/adware still lurking that has ingrained itself in my sys?

In fact I've just had to shut everything down and open up my browser again after clicking on the TAC link in an Elen Cole question on the other forum!

As i'm using a different operating system and not really qualified to answer your questions 100 percent correctly I'd suggest

Posting your problem to the XP forum at

At least you'll be talking to people on the same system
