Add to the mix:

American Beauty (everything from The Who to Thomas Newman's haunting piano piece);

Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown (discussed above)---never thought I'd like a 70s disco-style soundtrack!;

Donnie Darko (a cool movie with superb use of 80s music such as Tears For Fears);

Trainspotting (powerful stuff);

Moulin Rouge (wonderful and sometimes unexpected use of standards).
