Stranglers hippies jumping on the punk bandwagon.........mmmm.....interesting I thought punk was more of an attitude than a fashion statement, and as attitude goes the Stranglers
were top of the pile, granted they never went down the bondage trousers and mohawks road, but they sure upset a lot of people.

An original "Buzzcock" in Devo, Elton I think you are wrong but I can understand were you have got that idea from.
Howard Devoto was the guy to which you refer, he went onto form Magazine, who's awesome "Shot by both sides" still rates as a classic from that era.

Agree the early Brian Eno produced Devo was by far the best.

Q. Are we not men ?
A. Were all Devo

Devolution = The human race has peaked in the evolutionary scale, and we are now going through a stage of devolution were we are all reverting back to the ape.
An interesting concept.

Cheers CC.

Sorry Chris, I stand by my post, and please remember I DID say they were good.
I got Black + White on re-issue last week for ?5.99 and has extra tracks, Tank, Nice n Sleazy, Rise of the Robots and Toiler on the Sea still stand out.
Mind you, they did what they wanted after Raven, and weren't stuck in that punk music bandwagon, so hats off to them.
I still love the scene in Snatch where George is KO'd in a one-er and Golden Brown plays as he is comatosed.

My personal fave is AC/DC - If You Want Blood You've Got it.
I agree with the other postings here that AC/DC have never been the same since Bon Scott died. The Bon Scott recordings are never off my hi-fi but appart from Back In Black I hardly ever listen to the Brian Johnson material.
A few more classic live albums that have not yet had a mention are
Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East ( The Japanese version of this "Priest In The East" is even better as there are extra tracks)
Motorhead - No Sleep Till Hammersmith ( This was reissued first with extra tracks then more recently as a double live cd )
Rush - Exit Stage Left . I'm not a Rush fan as such but the musicianship on this recording is astounding particularly the guitar playing of Alex Lifeson.
Status Quo - Status Quo Live. I know they hava long since become a parody of themselves but in their day Quo were a hugely influential band.
