Hope had a team of about 15 writers who wrote all his gags for him - he didn't write himself. He would pay the writers by throwing cash down the stairs so he could watch them scramble for their money, as this gave him a perverse pleasure.

Been reading a lot about him today in the papers, seems he was a nasty cunt off from the camera's, was partial to smacking his missus around, used chorus girls for perverse sex with the empty promise of 'making it in Hollywood' and demanded cash up front to entertain the US troops......he says it was lost revenue from missing out on films etc. A cunt in MY book. When we have Jim Davidson (Who IS crap) and Bernard Manning (Who IS funny) entertain us, they eat in the mess and waive any fee. Top blokes compared to Bob.

Can't say if he was or wasn't......it was quoted in the tabloids today, and as he can't sue or answer back, probably isn't true.
If you were his missus and knew he was on his last legs with $150m, you'd stick with his little jaunts off to see the chorus gals.
