It's an old adage "Beware the man who has nothing to lose" but that applies to "normal" life on this earth.
As has been said, the maniacs who convince these poor saps that there is indeed a wonderful nirvana-like afterlife regardless of the carnage they cause on this earth are the only true guilty parties. Finding them!!!!!.......
Topping the arms & legs does nothing but reinforce their belief. I have no answer except that utter humiliation and degradation dragged out over a very long period of time just MIGHT have a slightly sobering effect.
I gave long held the view that religion (organised) is a form of brainwashing, but certain Islamic factions have developd it into a fine art that makes the Kanikaze, Assassins, Conquistadores etc. etc. look like naughty pranksters at a Sunday School picnic.
The billions this last "war" cost - never mind the lives-would be better spent hunting down the Islamic maniac "governors" and eliminating them.

On a similar issue, I was appalled to see that the Apprentice Boys' March in Northern Ireland this week starts off with a service in the local Cathedral. As ever, it is the sanctimonious priesthood that is encouraging the killing.
