IMPORTANT.!!!!

Post by Lizard »

If your running xp/nt/windows2000, and your pc keeps closing down, it,s because some twat has access to your pc, remotely, this means they can write and copy code just as if it was you, and use your pc remotely.
This has been a problem all day.
Billy Boy has a patch to fix it, the link is here:

if your experiencing shut down, and a lot of people are, download the patch and install it asap.

I had this problem for the best part of the day.
A friend saved my net life a few hours ago.

The problem is that a box opens up and says system shutdown and thren gives a timer from 60 seconds!
Most people wont get a chance to download the patch in time before shutdown.

Broadband saved me I guess.

I was told it was some hacker in Switzerland.
They can't access your pc. They can only have it shut down due to RPC errors.
Apparently, they infected the bandwidth!

Fucking slag bastards

Holden, your pc can be accessed, it,s a nasty piece of work this one, and you can down load the patch, it plants a exe file in the reg, that surfaces at random, the only way to sort it is to d/load, the turn off system restore, you will have enough time to down load the file, as this worm only operates on certain websites you visit, so dont visit this one whilst you d/load it, also install it open the patch whilst online, did you read what it said, sommat about john loves mary and why doesn,t billy boy stop making millions, quite funny really, if the guy who created it wasn,t such a fuckwit...

Sorry Liz, but I didn't get that on my one.
I had to download the patch offline as the pc would automatically shut down after 60 seconds.
I installed it offline; restarted the machine and hey presto, no problemo!

I didn't get any Billy, Mary, Zippy or Bungle stuff thankfully!

I haven't heard any remote access though.
It's be pointless if the system was shut down within 60.

I think there must have been several strands to this worm.
That's 2 so far then.

Please, anyone else who had this problem, describe what happened on your pc so we can see just how many worms were released from that can in Switzerland.

I agree with you Magoo, leave no clock standing.

This is the Symantec anti-virus page info on this worm:

I got this last night and have finally cleaned it off this morning.

FYI the reason why your PC is shutting down is that it it a self defence mechanism against the remote access. I.e. it has detected that someone else has unauthorised access to your PC and shuts itself down to prevent further violation.

It is a worm and therefore you should update your AV software and run a full system scan and update any XP security patches from windowsupdate.
