Hi Karina
I'm no dreamweaver expert, but if you're using Dreamweaver MX, when you try to send it to the site you should get a wizard screen talking you through what to do. I went on a course for MX last week, here's what was written in the leaflet, hope it helps....
UPLOADING:
Click Site > Edit Sites. Select your site from the list and click Edit. You'll see the familier Site Definition Wizard open. Skip through the sections until you you get to Sharing Files, where it'll ask you How Do You Connect to Your Remote Server? You need to click FTP. Fill in the fields with relevant info. (Don't worry if you weren't given a folder to put your files in - not all servers provide this.)
Test your connection using the button at the bottom of the section - Dreamweaver will report any problems. It is vital that you fill in these fields exactly (case sensitive, no extra spaces and exact punctuation). One mistake and it won't work.
Click NEXT when you've successfully connected and select No, Do Not Enable Check in And Check Out (this is for teams of web designers working together). Click NEXT and then DONE. Now click DONE on the Edit Sites window if it is still there.
Your are now ready to Upload your web site. Go to your SIte Files window and click the CONNECT TO REMOTE HOST icon (looks like a couple of green plugs). Dreamweaver will now connect to your server ready for file transfer.
Once connected select the files in your site folder you want to upload to server space (probably all of them if this is the first time). Click PUT FILES (blue pointing up arrow button) Dreamweaver may ask you if you want to include dependent files - click yes. Don't bother uploading templates.
File transfer will begin. Depending on the size it could take a while. When done you'll see the files have appeared on the left side of the Site Files window; this means they're on the server now.
Go to the site via a browser and your URL to test it out.
=====
As I said, I only did the course last week and haven't had time to play yet but I hope that helps somehow, although that's probably all stuff you know already.
Best Wishes

Re: is anybody still up who can help me?
Karina,
There are several dreamweaver discussion forums on yahoogroups. IMO the best of these is [http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dreamweaver_newbies] I'm sure if you posted your question on there, help would be on hand. The newbies community is very friendly and helpful with advice and solutions on DW issues never far away.
Fingers
PS I don't think your knickers would fit me, but you never know they might come in useful.... ;o)

the official newsgroup: macromedia.dreamweaver has a huge usership and you're virtually guaranteed an informed response to any query you post.
just click 'Post a new message to macromedia.dreamweaver' (registering with google, if you haven't already) and you should get a lot of feedback.
