know 3 people that have had it done, that's not to say i would, but your looking at ?1,400 quid minimum and they don't guarantee success.

I have some contact with ophthalmologists who research laser eye surgery. They all wear glasses ! It is not 100% safe by any means. Lots of people however have had it and are happy with the results, but it can cause corneal scarring which results in a hazy effect. I would perfere wearing glasses a bit longer until more is known about PRK ( photorefractive keratectomy ) which I assume is what you're thinking of having. My advice is completely unqualified and based on what I hear the smart buggers at work discussing as they tinker with their lasers.

ive been considering this for ages and last week spoke to a loverly chap who had had it done. he convinced me it was worth it.
its not the money that scares me its just goary. but he said it really wasnt that bad and he had the same fears as me and possibly u before he had it done.
it helps to talk to people that have had it to get there perspective.
also try moorfields eye hospital. i got an info pack from them and it was very informative. bit pricy but they do have some top surgeons.

I've had it done and I think it's great. I've recommended it to 2 others ---- one already has it done and is very pleased and one is about to have it done. I know several other people who also seem to be happy with it but remember it is an operation and things could go wrong. Mail me if you want some more info
