I hope they pay you well for losing out on all those video sales!
Sarah's gang bang would earn quite a bundle.

Re: A "BIG" request !!
TAC pays me pretty well I must admit, however Sarah's Gang Bang isn't my production. A good friend of mine who shall remain nameless, shot it under the Wicked City banner.
Anyway, not to worry, no doubt some pirate will nick it off spice platinum and whack it up on a website such as with Class Action 2 recently.
As it was on a free site and was only up for about a day, I'm not too fussed. But if it had stayed up longer or people were making money from it then just as with every other producer on this forum I would have been straight onto the lawyers.
Cheers again,
Big Jim

Re: A "BIG" request !!
Just read Marino's post 08/02/02 on piracy and it seems to me that the average punter who buys cheap produce doesn't have a clue what he is doing to the industry.
Copies by Pirates are only worth the 5/10 pounds they charge because of their shit quality with no guarantee of satisfaction if you get a dud.

Here's the view of a punter!
If videos are available for purchase then piracy is robbery and I hope your Lawyers keep busy.
TV episodes can be recorded for personal use. But if a viewer misses an episode of a series he is watching, which is easy to do when schedules are unreliable, and not everyone wants to stay up late to watch live, then I cannot see much wrong with a recording being copied for restricted circulation between collectors or being shown on the net.
If TAC were to publish the material on videos or DVD then I for one would be happy to buy them but copying television programmes is in a different league than copying commercially available videos.

Re: A "BIG" request !!
Lets face it TV is in the public domain and all people who supply programs are paid accordingly. As long as no money changes hands when passing on tapes no laws are brokem as far as I am aware.
Where as videos taped from originals and sold on by pirates are parasites on the industry.
Take it one step further to the gray area,
I buy an original which i then copy and send to five mates for no money exchanging hands. This act probably harms the industry more than the pirate practices because it is far more reaching.
Ask yourself what sought of industry do we want in the future.
The argument is black and white.(tapes for your mates on a regular basis will harm the industry in the long term no doubt)
cheers

Re: A "BIG" request !!
there's only one way to lance this boil - improved distribution. in particular - videos for rent.
if you can hire a tape for ?3 from your local blockbusters, the market for pirate vids at ?15 a pop will collapse.
porn needs to be treated like any other business and freed from artificial contraints. licensing will have it's place but as a means to and end - i.e. ensuring adults have access to what they want, where they want and at the price they want.
piracy will always flourish where prohibition exists.

Re: A
I have no problem with anyone taping a programme off the telly, I do it myself when I've got to go out. I wish hardcore was freely available as well and could be bought either mail order or from the local video shop legally. (or even shown on UK satellite / cable). I have never stated otherwise.
I have brought up the R18 subject with TAC a few times, but as I have said before, I am only one producer, I don't own the channel and I don't make their commercial decisions.
However, just because the channel won't release the material on R18, it doesn't give people the right to release it themselves and make money from it.
The recent Class Action postings weren't one or two random clips, they were entire episodes. I could have kicked up a fuss and asked the BGAFD moderators to ban these posts as they constitute piracy and copyright infringement. But as there seemed to be no obvious commercial motive, I kept quiet.
Illeagally taping programmes from TAC / Spice Platinum, putting them up on a website and advertising the fact is not a freedom of information issue, it's theft pure and simple.

Re: A
if you HAD asked us to remove the class action posts, we certainly would have, jim.
re. the last paragraph - i don't think many who use the forum would disagree with you.
it's a shame tac and tvx aren't more ambitious when it comes to exploiting their channels as promotional platforms for r18 versions of their series, along with touring shows and other events such as national competitions, perhaps.
it's all about building brand consciousness (it sounds psuedo but we're all suckers for it). playboy has done this relentlessly for decades and as a result it's now about as all american as disney and apple pie!
