I was an Angel a a kid.
My sister however, was a devious scheming bitch that used to torture me.

We're pretty close to being therapy candidates.

I suppose this isn't a good time to admit to having called Talk Sport or LBC.....

I only recently started talking to my sister after a 13 year old fued.
At least I'm not the one who ended it. She came to me and asked that we call a truce.
I would never have bothered doing that.
That's called courage of conviction!

Spoilt rich bitch.

Have to say that the net has been a real eye opener.
I once read a book called Hackers by Chet Day. Just a fiction novel. He called his characters faceless warriors.
I suppose he had a point.
But why are we all so cynical on here?
Said it in an email to Maggers but I'll say it for the benefit of everyone else, there are some real cool dudes on this board. Genuinely helpful & friendly people. No names need mentioning, you know who you all are.
We could help each other out on here and extend it to the big wide world, but at the end of the day, what are we?
That person off of the net? Some bloke called "Insert Tagname"?

It's late & unlike Mags, I can't blame talking bollocks, on the booze.

With you on that one bro.

It's a thin line to balance on.
The net does create it's own little world but by default creates a social interaction problem, but then the circle of thought is complete when you think of those people that don't do pubs or clubs.
I don't do pubs, unless it's with some friends who I know well. I'll sit and drink coke or OJ and that'll be it.
But how does someone who doesn't feel as if they belong in that world, entertain the notion?
How does that person walk into a pub and "socialise"?

The net allows people who would never have the confidence to approach people to actually learn some kind of interaction skill albeit facing the cathodes.

I hear the argument that everyone on the net is a sad cunt and it's offensive bollocks.
I guess we're sad cunts on here at 4am?
Bullshit. It's just an extension of communication.

Before the net, people would pay stupid amounts to talk on chat lines.
The chat lines with tags of "Come & have some fun in the Fone Bar" etc blah.
Socially acceptable?

"Get down a pub and meet real people" or "Go to a club and get a bird".
Bit patronising isn't it? Let's sit in smokey enviroments, yelling at the top of our lungs to be heard by complete strangers in the hope that we may share a 2nd common bond other than liking loud places full of booze.
Yeah way to go to meet people.

People chant it like a deranged mantra, "Go and meet people in the real world". Take a minute...what exactly in the magic formula for that scenario?
Tomoro let's all go out and make 10 friends. Let's see who gets called a psycho and told to fuck off first.

As for getting on in the real world. I believe that is very possible as long as you don't create illusions. That's the whinge of everyone who has met someone of the opposite sex on the net and come away disillusioned.
But friendship? I'd say it's as good a way as any.

I also find it suprising how many interests I share with certain people on here, right down to obscure films, music etc. You can't help but wonder about friendship at times.

The social contradiction of this post is that it's made at 4am, on a porn board by some bloke called Holden MacGroyn. How fucking socially acceptable is that!
Sad, sad & sad?

I made myself sound like a basket case I think.

I was actually doing the everyman bit.
Not that I'm about to get defensive about my social life;)
I love the nature of the O/T board as it is funny as hell at times.
My line of work involves training & filming and unfortunately by default, I end up socialising with people from those walks of life.
Believe me when I say it can get boring as fuck talking shop 24/7.

One thing to rest this on.
Look at us. The confident real world socialites with no problems. We are the real deal etc. yet check this; We all have fake names and net persona's. Yet the very object of ridicule and slating, someone who gets slagged off for being a bit "different" actually comes on here with his REAL NAME, real habits and info dating back to kisses in 1969.
Forumites...I give you Stephen Doran.

Now who are we?
