Tech advice - newsgroups

Post by Rock Charogne »

Is there any way I can extract a URL from a Newsgroup ? By which I mean, I view it in Outlook Express - which does not display the URL of pages - is there any way it can be found Outlook or do I have view in some other way

TIA

Dont think newsgroups have URLs otherwise they could be viewed via IE or some other browser.

not exactly sure what you're after but you can access many groups in your browser, via the google homepage

e.g. alt.fan.televisionx - although it's pretty dead now - or, more usefully, uk.media.dvd, etc.

Thanks for that - yes I tried Google - but the postings seem a little behind on that.

Sorry I did not make my query clear really- occasionally one sees a posting one would like to post as a link for others to view - obviously it is easy with BGAFD but, for example, RAME - viewed through Outlook Express - does not seem so easy to define!

The real question I guess is, if you are viewing a subscribed Newsgroup through OE - can you create a link from any chosen page and if so how ?

Sorry, I'm waffling

if I understand what u are trying to do then try using:

Blah Blah Blah newsgroup

When clicked it should open the users default newreader and check their news server for the group and display it if its available, hope this helps
