Evening all...
has anyone here ordered a substantial amount of Adult DVD's from Jaded, 5 star or Adult DVD Empire.. etc. all at once ever?
I don't know whether to order them in small quantities(2/3) or just buy a whole load at once. I mean, is a big box of porn any worse than a small one? customs wise?
Also, anyone planning any orders anytime soon?

Big XXX DVD orders from overseas?
Re: Big XXX DVD orders from overseas?
2 at a time will probably (not certainly - depends on whether they include an invoice inside, and how much the items cost) escape VAT and Customs. Any more and they might charge you.
With tapes, Jaded send them two per package, even if you order more than two, and that doesn't usually incur charges. Don't know what they do with DVDs. Five Star tend to put them all in one package, if possible, even when you choose not to have the cases, i.e. the US letter option, and you can get charged.
If you order from within the EU, the VAT is already paid and they don't get nabbed for Customs duties. It's worth comparing prices, but the lowest prices tend to be in the US.
If you are concerned about confiscation, make sure that the content would pass bbfc R18 guidelines and they'll be OK.

Re: Big XXX DVD orders from overseas?
Hey, thanks for the info...
I think I'm gonna wimp out and buy some from Vidshop. :/ and what I can't get there I'll try and buy from jaded in small doses. I do slightly object though to paying ?30 for the same title that is available at ADE for $18...
cheers

Re: Big XXX DVD orders from overseas?
5 Star could well be cheaper than jaded - worth checking before deciding, but small doses still applies. Never bought from ADE.
Re: Big XXX DVD orders from overseas?
.......a lot of the more mainstream US titles can be sourced from Europe, in which case they usually come out a tad cheaper than from the States (assuming you get hit for the VAT.....and of course the shipping is cheaper- often free for larger orders).
If you order from 5-star etc be sure to specify any carrier but FedEx- the latter will invoice you every time for the VAT, whereas UPS Global Priority etc are almost as safe, but don't attract the Myrmidons of C&E quite as much.

They do when they cram 4 DVDs into one Priority Letter envelope, but they were special offers; so I still came out ahead. From 5 Star, order two at a time and specify Global Priority Letter, though you will then have to get cases - less than 20p each if ordered in bulk, say a box of 50.

Spare cases are a must if ordering, say, from Orgazmik (or even STB for that matter) !!!
