Bad Boys 2

Post by Terry May »

saw this not long awaited sequel recently :

Pros:
-Fantastic car chase involving a fully loaded car transporter
-A funny scene involving a new boyfriend arriving to take Martin Lawrence's daughter on a date.
- urrr that's it

Cons
- too long
- voyeuristic emphasis on people getting shot in the head in slo-mo
- Will Smith likes to set himself up as a role model for families and black actors and yet takes the role of a stereotypical foul mouthed, gun toting, loverman.
- a really tasteless car chase involving corpses being thrown out of a van.
- and there's so much more to be bored by that I've managed to erase it from my mind.

My Advice: AVOID

Film 2003 with Holden MacGroyn

Whilst I agree with some comments made by Tezza May, I still have to rate this as a movie worthy of a watch.

The foul mouthed scene that I think Tez is referring to, involves Martin Lawrences' character of Marcus Burnett answering the door to a guy who is going to take his daughter out.
Marcus launches into a tirade of abuse that I feel I too shall be employing come the day some shite asks to take my daughter out.
Will Smith's character, Mike Lowry joins in by pretending to be the drunk, just out of jail, uncle who just happens to be there waving his gun around.

The dialogue goes something like this;

Marcus: Who the fuck are you?
Reggie: Hi Mr Burnett. I'm Reggie
Marcus: Watcha doin' here?
Reggie: I came to take out Megan
Marcus: What??
Reggie: I came to take out Megan
Marcus: How old are you?
Reggie: 15 Mr Burnett
Marcus: Motherfucker you look 30

Later on in the conversation

Marcus: Now listen have my daughter home at 10:01. If she aint home at 10:01 I'm in the car, lock loaded hunting your motherfucking ass down. Do you hear me?
Reggie (NODS)
Marcus: SPEAK THE FUCK UP.

I wont spoil the scene by giving the best lines away but it had me in stitches and I had to watch it several times just to get it out of my system.

The car chase scenes piss all over Matrix:Reloaded's car scenes.
Really stunning stuff.

I agree that the corpses being thrown out of the van was in bad taste and running over them was even worse.
This my friends I'm afraid is typical US film making.

The plot is very weak and loose but then this is a total bubble gum no brainer.

You could see a lot worse than this.
I give it 8 MacGroyn's.

Still.....Holden MacGroyn

BUT WITHOUT MY BRUCE LEE SIG BECAUSE HE'S TOO HARD FOR THIS PLACE...
