Myself I got 1 correct, the last one.
I should be good at lateral thinking as I have a pronounced lateral line.
How many did you really get correct jj? And having a poster of Anne Robinson on your bedroom wall is in many ways worse than sleeping with her.

What is the biz. with the maths q? The correct answer is 5000, is there some glitch in calculators that gives the 4100 answer?

The penultimate subtotal is 4090, and adding the final 10 causes the problem: your brain can 'short-circuit' to arrive at 5000 instead of 4100 (Compare the 'spelling' thread last week).

And yes, Mr Hippoglossus, I did get them all right first go: the curse of doing the Times crossword every day, I'm afraid. You end taking nothing at face value (especially useful when talking to lawyers, etc....).
