Lon Chaney

Post by Ace »

Nice to see Bill Malones profile pic of the 'Man of 1000 faces', Lon Chaney. Those old time horror movie stars are the best. Bela Lugosi was my favourite, no-one could do Dracula better than him, and that includes 'Good Bloke' Gary Oldman.
If you watch Ed Wood (Raised here recently) look for Martin Landau's portrayal of Lugosi and his contempt for Boris Karloff.

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

If you're a fan, I hope you've seen Gods and Monsters. Ian Mckellen on top form as the late James Whale (Frankenstein/Bride of../Invisible Man*). Cracking stuff.

*Claude Rains - best not-on-screen performer?

There is nothing scarier than Max Schreck in Nosferatu. The movie's eighty years old, and that vampire has never been bettered.

Carnival of Souls

Post by Bronson Lee »

Has anyone seen Herk Harvey's black and white classic 1962 film ...

Carnival of Souls .....

If not then I really recomend this one !

It has one of the best creepy organ soundtrack's and because its filmed in
an abandoned amusement park ! it has a very original feel for a low budget film ........check out the new 84 min dvd if you can well worth a rent !
