I went to one show(can't remember the name of the place) whilst on a Contiki Tour in 1990 and got well and truly ripped off

Yes, mine was a Contiki tour too, and the phrase ' ripped off ' pops up frequently when discussing it.

I think its the things that they tell you until you are on tour....like the extras that you haven't budgeted for and even if you did can't go on unless a certain number want to go...expecting people to plan for the unexpected is very amateurish

As they say you only get what you pay for

Still...if it hadn't been a Contiki Tour I would never had stayed in the aptly named 'Fawlty Towers' in Florence or

being told our accomodation in the ski village was over booked so we would have to go to a village 30 minutes out of town.Interesting trian ride in but...
the train stopped so we got off onto the tracks chased by the conductor..lol
it wasn't a stop at all

Still managed to have a good time even with all the unwanted surprises
